Guitar Society of Brantford, in partnership with the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of
Brant, is proud to present Russian guitar virtuoso Vladimir Gorbach in recital
Friday, November 16, at 730 pm, 20 Ava Rd. Brantford. First prize winner of the 2011 “Guitar
Foundation of America Competition” (the Wimbledon of the guitar world!) and currently
on a world tour, Vladimir will be perform in the beautiful front room of the

Vladimir Gorbach was born in 1981 in the city of
Novosibirsk/Russia. He started his guitar lessons at the age of 11 in
the class of prof.Yuri Kuzin in the state music school in Novosibirsk.
After finishing his music school(1992-1996) and college
degree(1996-2000) he enters the class of prof. Arkady Burkhanov in the
Glinka Conservatorium in Novosibirsk.
Mr. Gorbach has won several international prizes including,
1st prize at the Guitar Art Festival Belgrade
1st prize at the Koblenz International Festival in Germany
1st prize prize at the guitar competition “Ciudad de Coria” in Spain
1st prize at the guitar competition in Niksic/Montenegro
1st prize at the guitar competition in Velez-Malaga in Spain
1st prize at the Giuliani Competition in Bari/ Italy
1st prize at the Gevelsberg Guitar Competition in Germany
1st prize at the “Concurso International” in Sernancele/ Portugal
1st prize at the Music Competition of “Barmenia-Insurance".
In 2011 Vladimir also became First Prize winner at the Guitar
Foundation of America’s (GFA) International Guitar Competition
